Swap body network separation within DHL Freight GmbH
As is generally known, various swap bodies are used within DHL Freight. They are usually ordered from your DHL Euronet branch with the transportation of roller shutter swap bodies. However, the DHL Freight Spedition (EUCA) branches prefer the use of double door bodies. Aiming to provide the optimum equipment for our customers in the respective transportation process, DHL Freight decided to separate the networks as of August 1, 2008.
Here the most important rules for transportation from and to DHL Freight Spedition (EUCA) loading/unloading spaces for information:
- If the DHL Euronet branch only requests the main run, no swap bodies may be deposited in the exchange
- If the DHL Euronet also ordered a pre-run and a post-run from a DHL Euronet loading/unloading space, the swap bodies may not be exchanged.
- If you return freight yourself in agreement with the DHL Euronet branch, swap bodies may not be exchanged under any circumstances even at DHL locations.
- We would like to expressly make you aware that you will default if you do not return the swap bodies and that you are obligated to return the swap bodies at your expense.
Impact damage to the swap bodies at DHL Freight GmbH
Impact damage to swap bodies is on the increase. You have already been notified by your DHL Euronet branch of the new process at the DHL Freight (Euca) branches.
Here is a summary of the key points that need to be observed:
- Every swap body (with and without merchandise) to be taken on must be checked by the driver for impact damage and this must be noted down on the waybill before the acknowledgment of acceptance is issued.
- Impact damage is damage that is due to impact or force (e.g., forklift fork imprints on the swap body, roller shutters ripped from the anchoring, bent supporting legs)
- A correct receipt for the takeover of a swap body (with or without merchandise) is required by the relevant receiving depot.
- The journey report of the DHL Freight (Euca) branches must always include information as to whether a swap body was deposited after delivery. The following information must be added to the journey report: Swap body deposited yes/no. If the information is missing, we will assume that the swap body was taken away and we cannot indemnify you in the event of damage.
- DHL Freight (Euca) now only accepts signed waybills from the relevant branch (DHL Freight (Euca)) for discharge from liability for swap bodies (with and without merchandise) upon delivery with the aforementioned note. We are unable to discharge you from your liability for a swap body with impact damage for which you do not hold an acknowledgment from one of our branches (with and without merchandise) if impact damage is subsequently reported to us.
- If the issue of an acknowledgment is refused by a branch, the driver must report this immediately to the CCC including information on the swap body and transport number. In this case, he will be given a service number and the issue will be clarified by DHL Euronet.
The DHL tour schedule complies with Regulation (EC) No. 561 (in particular Article 10 (4)). If this is not the case, the service provider must indicate this without delay and in writing. This is how DHL contributes to planning the driving times of its service providers in accordance with the law. DHL assumes in this context that there are no order complaints with regard to the working hour regulations.
